Community Corner February 2022

Takeback Programme Update

Due to the ongoing situation with COVID in Hong Kong and associated social restrictions which prevent us from holding volunteer sorting sessions, we have made the difficult decision to pause our clothing takeback programme.

Starting 1 March the Redress collection boxes in all of our retail partner locations will be temporarily unavailable.

We hope to resume services as soon as possible, and will ensure to keep our social media channels and website up to date with any developments. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us should you have any questions.

The Redress Closet Update

For the health and safety of our staff, community and customers our secondhand store, The Redress Closet, will remain closed until further notice.

Please head to our IG page @TheRedressCloset for updated information.

We hope to welcome you in our shop again soon!

Creative Beings

Redress has been taking part in a project with Hong Kong social enterprise, Social Ventures HK. Piloting a new youth programme, Creative Beings, in the Sham Shui Po community alongside 10 local businesses, 20 youth aged 18-25 have taken part and interned in the programme. The Redress Closet has been delighted to welcome two interns to the team from December until February 2022.

The aim of the programme is to help local Sham Shui Po businesses gain additional manpower resources to help execute community projects. The interns have been busy supporting our Redress Closet shop manager, gaining experience looking after the store, planning marketing and social media content and developing a survey to help us gather valuable data about secondhand shopping habits and learning how we can support our Sham Shui Po community.

If you’ve visited The Redress Closet before, we’d really appreciate your taking a few minutes to fill out this survey in English or Chinese. Thank you!
