get involved: individuals

There’s no getting away from it, the fashion industry is hugely polluting.
In Hong Kong alone we send an estimated 170 tonnes of clothing to landfill daily.

Since we cannot immediately halt unnecessary clothing production, we should do our best to ensure that the 100 billion plus garments created annually are cared for and kept in use. Wearing clothes for longer matters. Studies show that if we doubled the amount of time we kept our clothes for, greenhouse gas emissions would be 44% lower. The most sustainable item of clothing is the one you already own! Every effort of an individual adds up to become a larger effort of a community!

Join us and choose to change your clothing habits for the better.

Shop Secondhand

We want to show you just how fun secondhand fashion can be!

Choosing to shop for secondhand items is a great idea, offering great value to you while doing the environment a huge favor. When you choose secondhand, you give clothes that may have ended up in landfills a new life and if more people fell in love with shopping secondhand we could reduce the demand for new clothing, which takes a lot of resources to produce.

Check out the Shop Secondhand Directory which includes our very own The Redress Closet in Sham Shui Po.
