Student Academy Week is now open for registration

As the Redress Design Award 2022 competition has launched, we are hosting our Student Academy Week from 11 to 18 February 2022 - eight days of interactive activities to explore circular fashion design strategies, held in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

CREATING MOVEMENTS TOWARDS CIRCULAR FASHION IN HONG KONG

Hong Kong, like many other cities in the world, is enjoying a boom in circular initiatives that keep our unwanted clothes in a circular fashion system and, crucially, out of landfill. But given our staggeringly high textile waste rates in landfill, we have a long way yet to go. So how do we scale up this flurry of circular initiatives? To explore this, we co-hosted a roundtable with H&M, attended by Hong Kong’s circular movers and shakers to identify ways to maximise their circular impacts. Check out the roundtable summary report here to see what can be learnt from circular thinking.

EMPOWERING DESIGNERS TO CUT WASTE OUT OF FASHION

On June 7 2015, the last in a series of five Fashion Academies took place in India to bring sustainable fashion education to emerging designers. In Shanghai, Hong Kong, Beijing, London and Mumbai attendees were inspired by the positive power of fashion, hearing from a variety of sustainable fashion experts and previous competition alumni. More educational material can be found on the Learn platform.
