Our Circular Fashion programme requires considerable manpower. We rely on enthusiastic volunteers from corporates and the community to help with sorting of secondhand clothing donations into 30+ categories so that they can be effectively redistributed to our local charity partners. Volunteer sessions are typically ½ day (4 hours) or full day (8 hours with a lunch break) including a 20 minute briefing about the issue of textile waste, our sorting process, and Redress’ broader educational work. We also need community volunteers to run our biannual Get Redressed Pop Up fundraiser and other ad-hoc events. In November we will also be holding a "24 hour Sort-a-thon" where teams of corporate and community volunteers will help us sort through 15+ tonnes of clothing in just 24 hours.
