‘Behind the seams’ of UK sustainable fashion

‘Behind the Seams’ of British sustainable fashion explored the UK’s groundbreaking sustainable fashion scene at an evening seminar and cocktail reception organized in partnership with the British Council on 16 November 2011.

Janko Lam, the EcoChic Design Award Hong Kong 2011 winner and Cherry Wong, the EcoChic Design Award co-founder, hosted this interactive discussion to an audience largely formed of eager fashion designers and design students.

The interactive discussion included a preview of several Spring/Summer 2012 looks designed by leading British designers that exhibit at ‘Estethica’, the sustainable fashion trade fair that has evolved to become the hub of London’s sustainable fashion industry. The discussion also highlighted pioneering British sustainable fashion education at The London College of Fashion that are propelling British design talent into the global spotlight.

Finally, the event allowed Janko Lam to share her reflections on the positive influence that British sustainable fashion has had on her career following her trip to London as part of her EcoChic Design Award prize.
